Bank Farm Riding for the Disabled Barn

Announcement from the Trustees

13 April 2026

The past 12 months at Bank Farm RDA Ltd have proved challenging for various reasons, including a particularly expensive year in financial terms and the future use of Flamstead Yard.

Through this period the trustees have monitored the situation carefully and examined how these matters affect the organisation in the immediate future and over the longer term. During the process, particular concern has been given to the welfare of our ponies and those who benefit from our riding sessions.

Very reluctantly, and after careful consideration, the Trustees have decided that the charity cannot continue to operate beyond the summer of 2026.

The exact timing of the closure of the charity is linked to the future of Flamstead Yard, which is not yet certain, but as soon as there is a more definitive date, this will be communicated. We very much hope that the riding sessions will continue as planned until the final date of 4 July.

Whilst this is clearly a painful decision, we are immensely proud of everything the charity has achieved over the past 40 years and the positive impact it has had on the countless riders who have benefitted from its activities.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have contributed to the charity either financially or through volunteering, without whom the charity would never have been able to operate.

In particular we must make special mention of our founder, Anne Coney, whose tireless work since 1986 has been central to, and an essential element of, the success of the charity.

More details will be provided as and when they become available.
